: OMFG, I cant believe this happened to me tonight.... I go through so much crap to make my car as legal as can be to not get harrassed but It doesnt even payoff. So tonight I am driving through Pearl City By pearlridge and its about 2:00am and I am on my way home doing 30 in a 35 mph Zone and this cop comes rushing up behind me @ about 60 mph, I continue to drive the same speed and as he comes closer to me i close my eyes and grip the steering wheel and pretty much brace for impact because the cop is about to hit me. well he doesnt hit me but he is so close to me that his headlights disappear and he is like 1-2 ft off from my bumper, then he throws on the light and the siren. So I take the turn into Pearlridge knowing I have nothing to fear because My car is pretty stock and when I park my car by Chilis, him and his 3 other cop friends pull up (4 cars total) and surround me. well I remain calm, roll down all my windows, pull out my legal papers, keep both hands on the wheel and stay buckled up, pretty much being a model citizen when being pulled over. The cop walks around my car and starts making all these comments about me not having Recon, then tells me he is giving me a no recon ticket and here is what he was saying... I dont think these rims came from Nissan when You bought this car, (my rims are 17s, my stock rims are 16"s, thus making my rims recon free) then he said I need recon for my exhaust, Which I am not sure but I dont think you need recon for exhaust. That was it, no other mods, So he gave me a ticket for No Recon (then went on to explain to me the recon rules and such), then 1 for operating the vehicle in an unsafe manner (because I had no recon), one for my tint strip being 1 inch over the AS1 line, and one for my windshield sticker which is just a modern Image sticker, about 36 inches in length, and very skinny letters and completely above the AS1 line and for the sticker on the back of my car which is not even on the visible part of the windshield, infact, If you sit in the car and turn around and look out the back window you cant even see the sticker because It is so high up that it is still on the black part of the windshield. The Officer was Duponte, and he started telling me that 36 cars have been confiscated already and he already impounded 26 himself. Then I sign the tickets and pretty much I am taking all these to court. : I have rims and Exhaust, i am stock height, and am a law abiding citizen. Nothing on my car needs recon, and I am paying the cops salary. But because my car looks fast, and pretty much looks like a racer then I instantly get pulled over... well, these are all going to court and I can see how the cops are hating already.... I am tired of this, i am locking my car up in the garage already for the next 2 months till all of this blows over... : I admit that my tint strip is 1 inch over the as1 line but the other three tickets are bogus, especially the one about me needing recon for rims that are 1 inch bigger than stock and my exhaust system installed by ESH. guys, this sux
